The highlight of this past weekend's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest -- the free festival in Golden Gate Park -- was the intimate set by the "strictly" bluegrass group Dry Branch Fire Squad. You could've heard a pin drop -- and lots of tear drops -- when the band-leader did a Civil War lament, unaccompanied on his Mando, dedicated to his son who joined the army on 9/12/01. The hamboned version of Hot Corn Cold Corn that followed was stunning. Luckily, this is a canned set, so you can see them doing both
